Working with on-island and off-island organizations, the Egan Maritime Institute presents a calendar of events that includes lectures, films, concerts and symposia focusing on Nantucket and other maritime topics. Additionally, Egan Maritime makes space available at the Coffin School to community groups upon request for a modest fee.

In July and August 2011, the Artists Association will mount an exhibit of paintings and artifacts from their permanent collection.

Nantucket Community Sailing is located in the lower level of the Coffin School and offers sailing courses at a reasonable cost. Together, Nantucket Community Sailing and Egan Maritime co-sponsor the Admiral’s Cup, an annual dinghy race, and the Whaleboat Rowing Club.
